Schools throughout the US check and review the teacher profiles that are posted each day in the School Section of the Teachers Council website. The information that we post is a brief a summary taken from the on line application form. The Schools want to review a complete resume with detailed information about the applicants that they wish to consider for a teaching position in their state.

Instructions for Resume Preparation

1. Please use the sample resume to compose your own resume. ( If the sample resume does not show up in your browser, please press ctrl when you click the Sample Resume link.)

2. Limit your resume to one page.

3. Write your own personal "Objective" statement. Do not copy the sample.

4. List your latest education and work experience first. Include name of the school or company where you taught and their address.

5. Give detailed description on your most-related experience.

6. Indicate if you have a teaching license. When it was obtained and what agency issued it.

7. Include relevant academic or teaching related references with name, position and telephone number. List the reference information on a seperate page.

8. TC staff will review your resume and send you an acceptance confirmation or a list of items you may need to correct or revise.

Submit Resume

When you are done with your resume, please be sure your resume file meets the following requirements PRIOR to upload:

1. Your resume is Microsoft Word document.

2. Filename must be this format: lastnamefirstnameDOB, with DOB following mmddyy format. For example, John Smith, birth date May 22, 1980. The resume file name must be SmithJohn052280.
